Saturday…already?!?

Wednesday we went to MOPS (which I totally love!) and V got whisked away to the kids room.  While I was with the adults we talked about Christmas traditions.  I can hardly begin to wrap my mind around Jon and I starting our own Christmas traditions.  It is something we could have started last year but we stuck out our normal routine since V was only 3 months old.  We always do Christmas Eve with The B parents and then go directly to the house of F to spend the night with my parents and wake up there Christmas morning.  I have always assumed that it was easier for Santa Clause to find me there…since that is where I have always been.  I am late twenties and I have woken up every single Christmas morning in my childhood house, had pigs in thongs (long story) for breakfast, and opened my gifts from Santa with my family…sometimes it is hard to let go of things you love so much.  But I digress…my real purpose of bring up MOPS was so I could show you my awesome craft.  I must admit that the example looked significantly better than mine.  In my defense, I sew, I knit, I cook…I am pretty crafty.  Apparently none of those skills matter when you are making a light-up Christmas gift.  If you have any ideas to make this dismal thing presentable…please let me know.

Thursday V attacked her first child.  We dropped by to play with our friend and all was going well…then V who was sitting quietly in my lap…jumped up, toddled high speed across the room, and tried to rip his little eye out of his head.  It all happened so fast that I couldn’t react.  When I finally pulled Jackie Chan (AKA V) off of him I felt so bad because he was squinting (and just in general because V had just attacked him…injury of not!).  Sorry lil Buddy!  I promise I will work on her social skills before we hang out again.

Thursday night V and I were getting ready to go knit with Mrs. Claire and I heard a loud noise.  What does a young Mom do when she is home alone with only her toddler in a big old scary house?  You guessed it…run like the dickens is after her.  I ran out of the house with only her diaper bag and my knitting.  No purse, no phone, no wallet, no nothing.  Turns out the automatic bubble maker had fallen off the wall in the bathtub.  Pretty scary, right?  I felt like an idiot.  However, I did get plenty of knitting done and just finished my most recent project finally!  Jonathan will be very excited.  He has been an overt knitter hater recently.

Yesterday was an exercise in relaxation.  We met Mrs. Lyndie and Sadie for a long (almost two hour) lunch followed by some leisurely shopping.  There was no rush, no hurry, just lots of great chatting and walking off really tasty food.  It was perfect.  I found great stuff for V in some of their little quaint toy shops.  The only problem is how much I love the stuff we picked up and I had to hide it away for Christmas.  Sad day!  After much shopping we had a little ice cream and headed home.

I have no idea how it is already Saturday.  Last night V and I were worn out from our weekly activities and were barely awake when Jonathan came home from shooting and then dinner with Dad B.  Today I have been useless.  Maybe tomorrow I will get busy again.  Maybe not.
